Lace Tights?!? Never.

I really hate lace tights, I think they are so over the top and fussy and most of the time look really dreadful!
Lace is a delicate element and although I love to play with texture lace is a none mover I think no matter how you wear it it should stay delicate. Even if you pair it with something very hard like leather for example.
I saw some lace tights I really liked in the last DKNY resort campaign and thought yep! If I am every going to wear lace tights it would be ones like that!

So far I have found these which I quite like!
You have to try and keep the rest of your outfit minimal otherwise it all looks very confused and not chic at all. Unless your going for a mad ott evening look!
For the day however, I hope I am setting a good example below!!

I definitely want her at my event/launch party/wedding (Ha!) or whatever

I am definetly going to get some more work done by her!
This is a dying artform something magical and mystical about things like this shadow puppets and so on there is a lot I love from the Victorian Era, including the dress!

Snug as a bug...

Who actually likes dress down Fridays? Well I do sometimes I guess...but not really.

Anyway it seems I can still manage to inject some glamour into a boring day
(why cant it be dress UP Fridays :0)

So here I am wearing my latest obsession My fur stole.
It is super super warm and I put it over my coats, tops, dresses and I can also wear it as an amazing hat thanks to it being adjustable.

Dress SOS

So I am sat here right now with a needle in my mouth. I am about to repair a vintage dress of mine. I am lending it to a friend of mine for a party. I bought this dress from a charity shop outside my grannies house and fell in love with it! Its a princess dress for sure but with a twist! it is vintage black taffeta covered in net it has a sweetheart neck line with a velvet accent and its empire line so it floats like a dream!!!!
Team with long silky gloves shiny sparkly mules and your good to go!! I love an evening dress which you can dress up with accesories but is also stunning in its own right that gives you endless options and means it is a true classic!

I dont mind a bit of sewing it kinda comes with the territory when buying vintage this is going to be a little hard though as it is the netting which has come undone and that almost as hard as lace to mend.

Don't worry Cinderella will go to the ball!

Chain Gang

It's so cold isn't it! I find it especially hard to look stylish in the winter months! As I am always so flaming cold!! I picked up this high waisted long(er) length pencil skirt the other day and couldn't help myself with this leopard print top!! Teamed it with my shoe boots and a longer length chain to try and balance it all out!

Barbican Gallery

If you happen to find yourself in the square mile, you should head down to the Barbican art gallery.

There is a great exhibition on Japanese fashion in the past 30yrs. Not usually a fan (find it all a bit "much") I was pleasantly surprised. The garments in the flesh are so much more than they seem in pictures or shows! So much attention to detail and intricate detailing all very clever. For those of you who cant make it down I took some (sneaky) shots.... I nearly got a right telling off for taking pics.....The lengths I go to for you lot!!
See some of my faves below.

The red dress on the far right is made out of hundreds of taffeta skulls....WOW

Glad they remembered there roots :) Ms Kitty

Can you see the dolls around the collar? creepy but kind cool!

Sleeves Just like Miu Miu trousers!

Origami just with clothes!! COOL!!!

So clever!!

Starry eyed........

In July 2009 I featured an up and coming young New York fashion designer who has been using these sorts of prints for a few years! (Her signature print) I wonder how she feels now everyone has jumped on her band wagon....

I have always been a fan of galactic prints and this little number is good enough to eat. I will take 2 please!!

I wonder if they are all slightly different prints and constellations....I hope so that would be awesome!!!

Made Well.

So in my eternal hunt for some decent sweaters and cardigans I came across this brand Madewell. A high street store stateside they have some super cute knitwear all for great price points, most being under $100.00. Only problem is they don't ship to the UK. I can only find them on Shopbop who do ship to the UK but they don't have the entire range... Some of my best picks below. If all else fails I will have to ask my uncle to send them for me.
Jumpers for xmas.....how original. Lol.
