Waxing Lyrical

A visit to Madam Tussauds while in Hollywood!
So much fun!!

My Favourite free weekly

Why do my ideas always get stolen?!
So just the other month I was thinking a bout the gap in the free paper market for a bit of a glossy and how i should start my own free mag - lo and behold! out comes Stylist!!
although I was slightly put out at first, I am now enjoying my free weekly fashion fix....
I wonder if they need any staff!!

Finally!

While in LA I managed to find some Matte black nail polish.
Its from a brand call KO (Knockout) and I am now lusting after the red and pink "flatte" polish from them.
I bought it in a store called Kitson which was the strangest store...obviously geared towards teenagers with more money than sense. The store was stocked to the rafters with all the designer brands you can imagine from Nichole Richie's jewellery to Marc Jacobs bags. What was odd was the way it was all displayed, it was a sort of jumble sale style but when you wrestled a tee from under a huge messy pile and looked at the price tag it was $200.00!!!
Everything was kind of shoved in perspex boxs and piled on tables.
I did not enjoy my experience at all although they had some fantastic brands.

I'm back!!!!!!!

So I am back from my amazing travels & ready to take on London this Christmas!!
Sunning myself on the beach in Hawaii seems years away already!
I have lots of pics to post including: Me watching a real volcano erupt, taking a trapeze class (a la Carrie in SATC) on Santa Monica Beach and meeting celebrities from Barack to Will smith (in wax form!)
So today I found out about Harrods turning into the Emerald City this xmas!
I shall be heading down there to try and bag myself a pair of limited edition ruby slippers with all proceeds going to Great Ormand Street Hospital!
I love The Wizard of Oz!!!!

So! please find below an overview! I have been working on a trend forecast for the past 4 days covering New York fashion week, so will do a few posts on my faves for S/S 2010
Please excuse any chopped heads I was either looking the wrong side of sleepy or getting ready for work, trust me better you don't see!!
Anyone who does keep tabs on here - SORRY!!
Business as usual soon. Pinkie promise.

The last of the greats?

Out today on DVD Valentino's film which has had much less press for some reason than Ms Wintours "epic" documentary!
I am just as excited about this as I am to see the September issue this weekend!!
Nothing makes me nauseous quite like a Valentino frock!!
His work is exquisite!!

Say it's not so!!

So today I am feeling slightly betrayed.

I absolutely adore Balmain's latest offerings of shoulder heavy pieces, and the whole furore surrounding it seemed well placed to me. How refreshed and inspired I was feeling....That was until I made my grim discovery.

While watching an old 60's flick called "Don't look now" I was astounded to see nothing less than a practically identical Balmain jacket IN HOUNDS TOOTH!! immediately being relevant to 2 of this seasons major trends.

I know Fashion has an annoying way of going round in a big circle and repeating itself but as I have not seen any references to "back in the day" styles i mistakenly thought this was thought up by a genius.....

How wrong could I be...I feel style-violated.

I tried to get a screen shot of the jacket for effect but unfortunately as it is so old that is proving very difficult!
