With my impending adventure drawing ever closer, I have been spending time with my family and friends back at home.

Last night i had the "Shelma Jumble" all my girlies came over for a rummage through all the things i have culled from my wardrobe a glass of wine and to wish me well. All my favourite little ones running around and Oli - Oli is the cat I would have if I didn't have my puppy Simba, he's a cat but not as you know it.... sometimes i think he is actually a reincarnate..

I decide to buy a little hat for my travels. I like this one because it doesn't cover my face (passport control) and I can rest my head back without bending it or it falling off!! (12hr15 flight...)

One new change..

I had a subtle dip dye last week. My ends are now 4 shades lighter than my roots! Not so noticeable now (which I like!! I didn't want to look like an upside down Guinness =0) but I am sure once I get on the beach that will all change dramatically.

A nice way to make a change if you don't want to cut or damage your hair too much!

Saturday Morning Shop: Magnatise Me

I cut the talons! I prefer to travel with short nails (so many germs in places like airports) Everybody still seems to think I have incredible long nails. I however feel like I have had half my fingers chopped off.

So in an attempt to "jazz" up my stubs I went on the hunt for these new magnetic polishes No.17 and Nails inc are doing. I couldn't find the No.17 ones but Nails inc had 2 offerings. this pewter and a purple.

I didn't like the shade of purple they had but this colour is really nice (and looks nice as a normal nail colour)

The process is easy and results pretty impressive I spent most of yesterday wowing my office with my magic trick. Everyone loved it! including me.

Lovers,

Creme De La Trend is on the move, I am off to Sydney in a few days and i will be doing a special

"CDLT Down Under" edition on Wordpress.

If its good enough for Dolce.....

There is nothing I love more than a shot of colour paired with all black. the contrast is so brave, both colours being rude and vying for attentions. I think its the stark and playful colour contrasts in patterns like stripes and polka dots that everyone loves!

(Polka dots = instant gratification)

A lot of this seasons accessories are causing a buzz because of the playfulness of colours and interesting fabrics. Everythings getting so fun again!! Yay =0)

I purchased a delectably pair of red velvet Dolce and Gabbana smoking slippers YEARS ago!

So when the high street finally caught up I refused to purchase (especially after all the strange looks when I was rocked mine!)

There was only one real contender that caught my eye.... Christian Louboutin of course..

Just beautiful! I had to show these from the back, I mean how can a shoe look so good from every angle?!

Then I came across these cuties from topshop sparkly yet understated and soooooo MJ! the ultimate androgynous dresser - I had to.....

Today I am super happy, it is hot and sunny here in London and tonight I go for dinner with my fashion twin, and will get all the gossip from her trip to beautiful Italia..

So anyway I have been racking my brain about who I look like all day and I have finally realised!!

Its Little My from the Moomins!!!!!! How happy am I?! Super!! (no really I am!!) I love the Moomins to the max!!!! But in case I am lost in my own little world and you don't know which character

I am referring to, Little My is the tiny one in the front on the left looking cross...

I find my inspiration in the strangest places and it may not always be the most obvious connection. But it cracks me up and makes me happy and in fashion that's all that matters!!

Jean Paul Goude - A Retrospective

How excited am I to be planning yet another exhibition trip to Paris?

My regulars will remember me heading off to see a Louis Vuitton exhibition not to long ago and getting snapped at by a street fashion blogger!

Well this time I am going to see a retrospective on one of my favourite artists Jean Paul Goude!

He is most famous for his 10 year ad campaign for Galaries Lafayette (These are my faves) and the work he did with his muse Grace Jones (who also happens to be the mother of his first son!)

But he has done work with Chanel Citroen and Perrier to name a few...... Here are a few of his works.

The exhibition is to be held in the stunning Les Arts Décoratifs which is a joy to see in itself!!

It will run from November until March next year!

I will be heading down soon after it opens. Paris in the winter is just whimsical....

Even though the sun is shining my mind is overcast with the chance of heavy showers........

Check out Terra New York and there take on seasonal rain wear. Not sure how wearable I would find these but I really like the mac...and the concept is pretty cool - mesh inserts to stop you having a sauna every time you wear them and they are made from earth friendly stuff the will decompose in 15yrs if left to the landfill........

Oui Paris! Tres Chic!

I finally caught up with my long lost fashion twin last night! we had plenty to catch up about! (fashion waits for no one) I also got showered with belated birthday gifts and treated to dinner at the Punch Bowl!! YAY!

One gift was this beautiful book by Ines de la Fressange (Karls first muse and Roger Viver spokeswoman!) Its style advice we have heard before but delivered in a fun and charming way that's a pleasure to read! She also has a guide to "hidden Paris" there is nothing me and my twin like to do more than explore Paris's hidden gems! Looking for new brands and designers!

The images are Ines' sketches and she has adorable wit!

I am half way through already!!

Well the gift of more books got me thinking I really need to sort out building a mini library in my house! my Ikea Billy bookcase fell on me the other day!!! My Vogues were too heavy! I had to move them all to the bottom! So I think I will be building some shelves into the alcoves either side of my fire place this winter....

Looking for inspiration I found some beautiful examples......ahhh the possibilities......

Cheeky Little Minx

Today I visited the Daniel Galvin Salon in Marylebone.

I went with my girlfriend to get my nails Minx'ed for Ibiza and I LOVE LOVE THEM!!!!

It is the first time I have had this done and I am really happy with the result! I went with a hologram design as I didn't fancy the full on gold or silver!

Its graduated into a clear coat.

I got so many comments on how nice they looked and I must say they are well worth doing!! The staff were lovely and it had a really nice atmosphere! Very chilled and up beat! all the girls were smiling and being polite! I think its important when you go for a pamper thats exactly what you get! Agro on a girly day is not allowed! ah ah!!

Have you noticed the little snap shots of my new bunny Rabito? He is my awesome new iPhone cover! he can stand up on my desk or pop his tail off and clean my screen! His ears double as earphone holders too!

I was invited to this exhibition by a friend and I am SUPER excited to go! you should definitely try to catch this and if you cant invest in the book that is published alongside

(Insider tip: If you wait a month or so after the exhibition has closed the book should go down in price, if you can wait 6mths it will reduce considerably - but be careful with highly anticipated exhibitions...these books may actually increase in price or sell out if the event was a sell out success and people couldn’t get in!!)

Hopefully we will head down before I head off to Ibiza.

The sun came out! I took the opportunity to re-run a golden oldy!

If you are going to do nautical stripes (every single year......) I think the simpler the better! classic classic and some more classic. No seasonal cuts, fabrics or bright ideas :)

The belt is optional and a nice way to stop it looking...old!

I also managed to get this watch on loan for the day! how much do I wish it was mine??! Almost as much as I would like to be able to spend 3.5K on a ruddy watch!!!!!!

Totally fed up with using software to "fix" my shots into cool ones!

So I have been gifted this gorgeous Camera with the ability to take beautiful pictures with the right knowledge. It was a toss up between this and a small (if you can call it that) Nikon. Although amazing cameras I do think Nikon's are so showy offy and also don't you think the "Nikon Necklace" looks awful??!? Not only is this retro style camera a real looker it has the ability to help me learn how to use a "real" camera it doesn't have to many auto functions and so you have to learn about lots of interesting things like depth of field...... see MY practise shots below!!

I know I have been awful of late but I have been up to lots travelling lots and just have not had the time (or the material to be honest) to sit down and write to you guys! Couldn't tell you the last time I actually sat down and read a mag!!

I have been busy on my new bike visiting my friends and exploring London in a new fashion

I am most looking forward to going through Rome on a Ducati though :) exciting...and scary!!! Loving my kimono jacket right now!! Nice to cover up in something silky!! Doesn't it look like a designer we know? (The late A McQueen?!) I love the print and the colour combo! This is my hairstyle of choice at the moment! The (slightly lower) messy top knot! Easy breezy and darn sexy no!!

Here I am wearing a pretty pricey basic vest from Whistles I wanted to mention it because mid price point basics can be really hit and miss!

And I am finding that this top is washing and lasting very well! Every time I wash it it looks brand new. They obviously use a very good cotton mix! So a bit pricey at around 30GBP for a plain black vest.... but definitely worth it!

Miami to Ibiza

For my birthday this year I am heading to Ibiza town :)

As I am only there for a week I have been making reservations at all the must see venues and keeping a tight itinerary - I would like to see the sunset at Cafe Del Mar, go for dinner at the Supper Club and after a crazy night of partying (Hed Kandi maybe) head straight to the Blue Marlin for some serious chillaxing on a beach BED reserved for the day........Of course Olivia has already beaten me to it...TUT.

In love with my clogs.....YES clogs! I have always wanted a pair of these but with price points over £100 I couldn't bring myself to pay that with the risk they will be uncomfortable!

How wrong was I? Picked these babies up in H&M and they are super comfy and SUPER cute!!

I bought them in 3 colours (excessive I know) but when you find something you like......

Teamed them with my Sandi (From Grease) American apparel trousers and box shirt from Zara!!

Finally found some sweet loafers I like! I bought some new Raybans - I was going to get the black and gold but the lady in the shop showed me these black and brown ones (new season) and I loved them! I went for the unisex size (medium) as I think I can carry them off! the smaller ones are to delicate for my face lol!

Glad I did get the brown actually because there seems to be an influx of the black ones at the moment and my pet hate is looking the same as everyone else!!

Le Crazy Horse rides into town.......

I am very excited to be going to the Supper Club here in London this weekend!

They have them all over the world! I have been to the one in Bangkok and it was an amazing place!

The concept is, no tables and chairs you kick back on huge sofas and have your dinner served on low trays while being entertained by various artist, musicians or performers. After dinner the club part of the venue opens and you can sip cocktails while listening to some of the best DJ's until the wee hours.

The entertainment on Sunday is the crazy horse troupe travelling through from there home in Paris!

I have always wanted to see Le Crazy Horse but the tickets verge on 200Eurs and there is always so much I have to do in Paris!

So many famous people have been to see the show and visited the Supper Club London.

I am going to get dressed up (or down) to the nines. We are expecting a special guest......I really REALLY hope it is Dita!!!

So I know these posts are not strictly "fashion" related but its nice to mix it up a bit no?

Here are a list of a few exibitions and shows I will be seeing in the coming months in London Town!

Try and get yourself along if you can!

You get fashion inspiration for yourself!! and you find it in the strangest of places......you shouldnt be restricted to being inspired by whats on the runway or what celebrity is wearing what! After all everything your looking at (fashion shows included) is old hat! Old for the designer (belive me when that last model walks backstage they (the designer) is already in an almighty panic about the next seasons collection!!

Imagine my delight at being gifted this beautiful bike!

I have been looking at all the London cycle routes I am going to be exploring this summer!! and am super excited to be cycling around London with my friends and going to visit exciting places with my puppy in tow!!

These bikes are still hand made in England since 1926 and are steeped in heritage.

They have the cutest features like the huge basket at the front (Simba's seat) front lamp, leather seat which moulds perfectly to your personal derrière and a skirt guard! (for days your wearing a midi or maxi - a true fashionistas bike huh!) and built in security lock! can you believe they are the longest existing bicycle manufacturer's in England? and they still use the same designs (LOVE it)

I opted for the black! as obviously it goes with everything :0) and I will buy some white walled tyres next summer!

I fell in love with this style of bike after a summer holiday in Milan, spent using a similar one all over the city....... I would kill to take this to Rome with me next month!!!

Working on my creativity!! I think I need a holiday!! This Easter was a little bit hectic for me but I have been keeping my eye on whats going on in the world of fashion! Did you see everyone at the met ball? and hands up if you preferred Pippa's dress to Kate's at the Royal Wedding!!
(I heard rumours that Cameron Diaz had worn the same dress at an awards show!)

You know how sometimes you need to stop, take stock and NOT think about fashion for a while?
I have been out and about doing fun things like sleeping in late, going to Trapeze class, boozing eating alfresco in Soho and sitting in the park reading!

I think I have been eternally mortified from hearing my audition for a presenting job..... but that's another story!

In my what seems like an eternal search for the jumper Rhianna wears in her "whats my name" video I have been wide eyed for anything in cornflower blue!

So off I went to Absolute vintage to have a rummage and then stopped off in urban outfitters where I came across this gorgeous over sized silk shirt! Its a reworked vintage piece and although it looks hideous just hung up it is SUPER cute on! It has cute iridescent buttons and looks best tucked in or tied at the front (gently) with the sleeves rolled - I can't wait to wear it!!! just have to find some cornflower blue polish and I guess I will have my Ri Ri inspired look!!

I still NEED a mohair jumper/cardigan though!

Also picked up this skull I have had my eye on for a while, I actually wanted an Jewel encrusted one a la Damian Hirst but I don't have the millions. (Not to mention its a real human skull-Gross!)

This one is just as sexy! Its pearlised! a fake skull and looks hot on my desk :)

Now I love a good old satchel and my blue one is a staple in my closet but I must say I am getting a little bored of all the variations of largely the exact same thing!

Cambridge school satchels seem to be making a "come back" but how can they come back when it was only last summer everyone had to have one?! and lets face it a hard satchel in the winter never quite works does it?

So I must say I am delighted to see Moschino mixing it up a bit with what I have named the "Lady Satchel"!

Although not best pleased with the choice of model for this campaign they shot it where I think SO MANY more campaigns should have already been shot! Outside the Duomo in Milan!!

The structure of the top handle, the contrast colour over the edges and the detail over each tab makes this a firm "Ladies" bag!

We likey!

While I am on the subject of bags have you seen the new Hermes clutches?

Can't get a Kelly in your clutches?? (sorry bad joke!)

Then how about one of these beauties!

A pop of colour is always a good look and these will stand the test of time! after our summer of Copacabana (can't wait) is over these will still look great!! Once everyone else slides back into the blacks, blues and greys of winter (and checks...little insider tip for ya'll)

I would still be rocking my brights toned down with black I think the colour I will be buying into the most this season will be orange! Again!! I already have a lot of orange in my wardrobe and it has stayed there for years!

People sometimes shy away from plastic shoes in the summer but nicely made ones

(with little perforated holes in the in step) are super cute and non sweaty!.

I wonder how much these will price point for!

Still not convinced? the open sandals are sweet too and you can get your hands on a similar pair for a fraction of the price at Zara (39.99)

Yes it really is a man and yes that is Jean Paul Gaultier's Bridal collection he is wearing.....

I guess this will be my first "touchy post" here on Creme De La Trend.....

Andrej. Hmmmm, although very handsome (and I do think a man with feminine looks can be!!) I find it all a little disturbing..... I think it is pushing the high fashion androgynous look a little too far. What we need to remember is these things trickle down..... into everybodies subconsious in the strangests of ways.

They are blurring the line bettween a man and a woman and although I think that this is something that could be fun to play with for shoots, editorials and campaigns, but I dont think it should be a permenaunt fixture nor widely accepted. Whats left?? and furthermore his body shape is impossible for a girl to acheive without effectively starving herself or removing all of her breast tissue (sorry to be gross but true!)...... even the most flat chested models (as most of them are because they are so painfully thin) have a definite shape to their breast plate. that is the female form, different to the male and we should revel in it and celebrate it.

As you well know I refer to models as Aliens as they are beauties of an other worldly sort. Andrej, I guess fits the bill pretty well! In the end he just looks like every other model of the moment.....Male or female......

Who's doesn't love cats eye glasses? so chic...... unfortunately not everyone can pull these off you have to have a very particular face shape to show these off best!

If in doubt buy a cheap pair and if you love them then splash out! Sunglasses are a great investment and a classic good quality pair will give you your moneys worth!

Always good to bear in mind if the style will stay with you "classic" however does not always need to mean boring!! This style has been revisited many times, and for good reason.

My evening wedge of choice! for this summer!

I have to be careful with wedges they can be big and heavy by the time you get up to my size these are the type I usually go for, tapered heel with no underfoot platform this obviously gives you more height which holds your foot at a sharp angle (3.5inchs + works for me) Yes poor feet!

Making them appear smaller than they actually are!!

Taking all the above into consideration I dont usually buy day wedges
(underfoot wedge needs to be less than 1/2 of entire heel hieght)
Casadei seem to have some good offerings in the wedge department and they also have the type of sandal I want for this summer....very chunky, very sixties!
I will always choose wood over a cork sole but it's heavy!

These books can never really be lived by page by page, but you can always pick up useful tips or ideas and who doesn't like a sneaky nose in some young, rich and fashion famous closets??

For my birthday every year I like to wear a vintage LBD (Little Black Dress) for my party

(I have found a great venue for this year!)

Although this time I may need to make an exception on the vintage side!

I picked up this dress, I had been lusting over it from Whistles all winter! I refused to pay the original price knowing full well I could get a vintage dress twice as nice for half the price - (hey that rhymes) anyway it went in the sale and I picked it up for a great price.

It is a little hard to get the picture of how cute this dress is with it being all black....but if your an avid follower here at Creme De La Trend then you may remember me posting about it before today ;0)

It has a super low cut out back it is quite loosely fitted and all around the hem you have semi circle chiffon petals (So Marchesa!! just a less intense)

I would love to wear it with a pair of Chanel heels! Or some nice Lucite sandals - Tres Chic, Non?!

A great tip I picked up from one very house proud Italian Mama was dotting your house with diffusers.

I love a scented candle as much as the next person but they don't always smell how they smell unlit! and certainly the ones that do a very pricey! (Diptyque and DL& Co do the best ones) Also I always feel a little unsettled when burning a candle I cant see no matter where I put it and no matter how much glass is around, which means annoyingly I tend to stay/hover in that room while the candle is on.

I recently purchased a 3 set from The White Company and they smell delicious! I will definitely be investing in more!

On my many visits to Italy I saw an abundance of them they do great big jars of the stuff and in every scent you can imagine.

I am very particular about how my house smells and right now it smells too yummy!!
